Associate Director, in vivo Pharmacology

Novasenta is seeking an experienced, highly motivated scientist to join the Novasenta’s experimental biology team. The successful candidate will lead, develop and execute in vivo and ex vivo preclinical studies to advance the scientific vision of the company with the focus on establishing an innovative portfolio of antibody drug candidates targeting the tumor microenvironment. The person should be passionate about working in a small group, fast paced drug discovery/ development environment.


  • Lead the in vivo pharmacology efforts to support the development of programs from the time of candidate selection to IND-enabling studies
  • Independently and strategically plan, manage, oversee, and/or execute in vivo and ex vivo preclinical studies required for hit, lead and candidate selection across multiple programs
  • Oversee CROs and other external resources, and ensure quality results are delivered on time and within budget. This includes study design, protocol development, coordination of study materials, data analysis, interpretation and presentation, as well as report review and approval
  • Champion innovation and drive biomarker discovery and novel target identification by proactively reviewing literature and other advancements in cancer immunology
  • Participate in evaluation of targets and projects to continually refresh the drug discovery pipeline and progress the platform
  • Contribute to target selection, validation activities, and portfolio strategy discussions
  • Proactively recognize and solve technical and scientific issues to assure high quality data from external resources and commitment to timelines
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for driving of science with urgency to bring new therapies to patients


  • Ph.D. in relevant field of biomedical research, plus 8+ years applying in vivodisease models in a drug discovery setting
  • Expertise with in vivo models of Oncology and/or Immunity required
  • Experience in progressing drug programs from pre-clinical to IND
  • Ability to leverage knowledge of biological mechanisms towards novel experimental design
  • Experience managing team of scientists as well CROs and other outsourced providers as well as excellent skills in written and oral communication required
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and collaboration skills to work in a team-oriented, matrixed environment, and the ability to work through conflicts
  • Previous industry experience with understanding of the drug discovery process from Lead Optimization through late pre-clinical discovery preferred
  • Is passionate about working in a small, interactive, fast growing, and entrepreneurial drug-discovery/ development environment
  • Title and compensation commensurate with experience
